Three accounts of the Apostles healing in scripture are, when Peter and John heal a man who has been lame his whole life in the first few verses of Acts 3. The next time is in Acts 5;12-16 when the sick came to the apostles hoping to be "crossed over" by Peter's shadow. A third time is when Paul resurrected a man from the dead in Acts 20:7-12.
The Anointing of the Sick relates to the mercy of god because as God's power and will comes through the Priest or Bishop as the ritual is being performed He shows mercy onto the spirit of the person and heals them. The person may not be physically healed, although some are, God flows through them to heal the soul and bestow strength upon a person in time of need.
